Prestigious club migrates its applications to the cloud

Alumni Services, a global digital transformation consulting firm, turned to Synthesis to help their client, a prestigious private members club in Hong Kong, utilise the power of the private cloud to provide secure, scalable storage.

The Challenge

As part of an ongoing enterprise architecture refresh, Alumni’s client sought to transition from CAPEX intensive on-premises compute to the cloud. It also needed to ensure that, with new ways of working demanding staff operate across a number of locations, have access to files and other collaboration solutions.

To fulfil this ambitious vision in a Covid reality world, the club re-imagined how it could incentivise communication between staff and customers, by providing swift access to vital operational information.

At the same time, a premium on having a secure environment which provided capability to store archival data in a cost-effective manner.

AWS Cloud was core to converting this aspiration to reality.

To do this in a timely manner and ensure the well-architected framework was use, Alumni identified the best course of action was to leverage Synthesis’ skills.

The Solution

Synthesis built out an AWS Control Tower environment for the customer. AWS Control Tower provides the easiest way to set up and govern a secure, multi-account AWS environment, called a landing zone.

A storage gateway was built to allow for easy storage of files in the cloud.

The Results

The club now has a connected AWS Cloud environment with a cloud storage system linked to its user systems. AWS cloud infrastructure now sits at the centre of how the club operates and will increasingly play a pivotal role as future transformation initiatives go live.
