In a South African first, Synthesis Software Technologies has been awarded Amazon Web Services (AWS) DevOps Competency status. This is the fintech company’s second audited AWS Competency, following their Financial Services Competency achievement in August 2018.
Achieving an audited AWS competence requires the satisfaction of a stringent set of criteria, including audited case studies, proven thought leadership, and an advanced set of qualifications.
These qualifications follow Synthesis’ achievement of AWS Advanced Consulting Partner status in 2017, in another first for the African and Middle East regions.
AWS is the world’s pre-eminent cloud-services provider, and is rapidly scaling up capacity in South Africa; a strategy that is expected to benefit businesses in both South Africa and the continent.
Synthesis’ Head of Cloud Consulting, Darryl Govender, was upbeat regarding the certification: “The DevOps approach, underpinned by the AWS set of DevOps services, is a shortcut to providing business value to our clients by ensuring improved quality, more stringent compliance and a shorter time to market. Usually there is a trade-off between speed and quality: DevOps, which is an iteration of the Agile approach we’re known for, allows for substantial increases in both speed and quality. It’s a game-changer, and it’s brand new to the South African market.”
Michael Shapiro, Synthesis’ Managing Director, said: “In combination, our Financial Services and DevOps competencies demonstrate our unrivalled ability to provide innovative, best-in-class solutions to the South African financial services market. The combination perfectly encapsulates Synthesis’ unique ability to help customers transition from old-world, on-premises, legacy IT to the new world of DevOps cloud agility. I’m fantastically proud of our team, and look forward to all that we’re going to achieve.”
