Over 15 years ago, we were approached by one of the largest bond traders in South Africa to assist with their back office infrastructure.

Challenge

Their large team of back office staff was tied up capturing massive amounts of data between two systems. This posed a serious problem in terms of scaling their business, and also put them at risk of penalties.

Solution

Partnering with our client, we developed a model that focused on integrating the source system, automating the back office system, and managing trade life cycle back to source system.

Results

As a result, Absa Markets was able to redeploy back office resources to more strategic areas, and use some to perform exception management role. Their business is now easily scalable and their fines have been dramatically reduced.

The infrastructure remains relevant today, with only a few market upgrades required to maintain it as a core part of its business.
